Blogging

In the month of January, students have been working on the creation of their very own kidblogs.  Students are using the writing skills that they are learning in their class to implement into their blog posts.  For example, students are using their persuasive essay skills to persuade audiences on wether or not kids should use videos games.  They are using evidence from many different sources including online research to back up their claims and they are using their kidblogs as a platform to share their views and opinions.  The blogs are private but if you are interested in seeing your child's work please message me and I would be glad to share our link.

Next week we will be opening up our blog posts to a school in Boston where students will share the different experiences of living in different cities.  Please stay tuned to see what happens!!

Google Drive Accounts

In the months of November through December, students will be working on creating a Google drive account in which they will save their work into a digital portfolio.  This digital portfolio will contain numerous works that will showcase the progress of each student.  Students will also learn the features of working with a Google account such as creating folders, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. They will learn the difference between saving their work onto a computer or flash drive vs. a cloud account online such as Google.
